Why do we charge a subscription for organizations to use the HUB?

Our goal is to be an organization that continuously grows rather than become stagnant. We use the money obtained from the subscriptions to help pay for the maintenance of the current website and its future development. We also use a portion of every dollar spent on the website to support disaster research and community activism.

To what organizations do you provide financial support?

While we donate to multiple agencies year-round, most donations go to Leona’s Kings and Queens Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to provide grants and resources to communities where disasters have moderately or severely impacted communities along the Gulf Coast. Do you offer discounted subscriptions?

At this time, we do not offer discounted subscriptions.

Who can become a member of K.A.P.S. connect?

Any organization with a valid E.I.N. number offering, supplying or supporting disaster-impacted communities.

How does K.A.P.S. connect work?

To become a K.A.P.S. Connect member purchase a yearly subscription and begin using the site!

– You can populate the public map with your organizations information.
– You can connect with other organizations supporting disaster relief.

How much is the yearly subscription?

Each subscription is $500.00 to be paid yearly or monthly. Please only select one option at checkout to prevent double payments.

Is there an individual Disaster Connect subscription?

Not at this time, but we do have plans to release the individual version in the future.

Is there an app?

We are currently in the process of developing the K.A.P.S. Hub app, we will launch the release date on the web site’s main page upon its completion.

How do I report a problem or concern?

Who writes the disaster blogs, vlogs, podcasts, and how reliable is the information presented?

Each blog, vlog, and podcast presents information by a scholar, practitioner, or community advocate. While each piece is the opinion of the author and may not fully represent the views of this platform, each piece goes through an extensive review process to ensure against defamation, libel, or slander.

What does the acronym K.A.P.S. represent?

The acronym stands for Knowledge, Attitude, Preparedness, and Skills.

When I click on the training link, the site transfers me to www.leedwithjoytutoring.net. Am I in the right place?

Yes, you are in the right place. The K.A.P.S. Disaster Hub and L.E.E.D. with Joy Tutoring are subsidiary companies of L.E.E.D. With Joy L.L.C. Clicking on the training tab will bring you to the professional development training listed on the L.E.E.D. With Joy Tutoring site.

How do I know your site is safe to use my credit card?

Our site uses a payment gateway called Stripe to collect payment information for the yearly subscription and any other purchases acquired from the website’s Shop. Please note that L.E.E.D. with Joy nor any of its subsidiaries collect or hold your card information.

Do you offer a refund?

All subscriptions and items in the SHOP are final sale. We do not offer a refund for a subscription or Shop items. Once you purchase a subscription at $500.00 a year, you will access the site’s full capabilities for one year.

Can I transfer my subscription to another organization?

No, you cannot transfer or share subscriptions between organizations. Every organization must purchase its own subscription. We reserve the right to cancel a subscription if an organization is caught sharing subscriptions without prior authorization.

How do I purchase several subscriptions at one time for multiple organizations?

To purchase multiple subscriptions for multiple organizations, you will need to send an email to kaps@leedingwithjoy.com. In the email subject line, please write: “Purchase Multiple Subscriptions.” In the body of the email, please include the following:
i. Your name
ii. Your companies name
iii. Your companies address
iv. For whom are you purchasing the subscription?
v. How many subscriptions are needed?
b. After receiving this information, we will respond to your email with the next steps. Please allow a minimum of 2 to 3 business days for a response to your email.

Who is eligible to obtain a subscription?

At this time, only organizations with a current E.I.N. number registered with the I.R.S. that focus on disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery within communities. Organizations will need to provide their E.I.N. number and proof of federal registration to obtain an account. Periodically, we do make exceptions for organizations that can prove that they are in the process of filing their I.R.S. paperwork. These organizations will also need three letters of recommendation from their partnering organizations.

Where can I donate to a specific organization?

If you are interested in donating to a specific organization, use the map search tool to look up an organization, click on the donate now button, and contribute.

If I donate to a specific organization, does The K.A.P.S. Disaster Hub retain a portion of the donation?

No, we do not retain any money donated to any organization listed on our site.

How can I donate to The K.A.P.S. Disaster Hub?

Use the link above labeled Donate. We will use this money to help marginalized communities post-disaster impacts and further develop the site.

How can I invest in The K.A.P.S. Disaster Hub?

At this time, we are not taking investments, but we are accepting donations. Please use the link above labeled donate to the site. If you would like to receive a tax write-off for your contributions, contact us directly for more details by emailing kaps@leedingwithjoy.com.

Will my organization be trained on how to use the tools once I CONNECT with K.A.P.S.?

We are here to help! Our experienced support team will assist you throughout onboarding, implementation, and beyond. Educational materials are available to you throughout the onboarding. Connecting our communities depend on you – we are dedicated to helping however we can.
